Dental Crowns Eltham & Bulleen

Porcelain crowns serve many functions in restorative dentistry. They can protect and strengthen the tooth structure and improve the overall appearance of your smile. Porcelain crowns can be used to:

  • Keep a tooth that has been weakened by decay from breaking or cracking
  • Restore a tooth that has is broken or worn down
  • Support a tooth that has been weakened by a large filling
  • Provide structural support to a dental bridge
  • Improve the appearance of misshapen or discolored teeth
  • Serve as a replacement tooth to cover a dental implant

What is the process for getting a Crown?

During your visit at Evercare Dental Group, your natural tooth is prepared for the porcelain crown and a precise impression is made. When preparing the tooth for a crown, it is important to maintain as much of the natural tooth structure as possible. Once the tooth is prepared and a mold has been made, a temporary crown is placed.

The impression is sent to a lab, where your final porcelain crown will be made to its exact specifications. During a secondary visit, the porcelain crown is cemented into place. At this time, your dentist will make any necessary adjustments.
